A note from the Councillor
Hello residents of Ward 13

My friends,
As the end of the year approaches I begin to reflect on what really matters and what I hope for in the days and years ahead. I find my thoughts focusing on the spirit of kindness and the sense of community that ties us together. We face challenges, both in our city and across the world, that pull us apart and can make us forget how we are all connected.

So my wish for all of you during this season and throughout the year, is that you remember the compassion that defines us as a community. Remember that we share the same dreams, the same fears and the same hopes for a better future. Please take a moment to look around your neighbourhood and ask yourself “how can I help my neighbours?”

May you and your families find hope and joy during the holiday season.

Seasons greetings,
David Ferreira
Councillor Ward 13, London Ontario

Fall Economic Statement Summary from Council
Housing affordability remains a pressing concern for London and across Canada. The recent Federal Fall Economic Statement introduces measures to address this, including increased financing for new rental housing and grants for affordable housing; however, the City, along with the Federation of Canadian Municipalities, emphasizes the need for substantial investments in municipal infrastructure. As we approach Budget 2024, the City of London is actively advocating for comprehensive infrastructure investments to support housing construction, improve residents’ quality of life, and address urgent issues like homelessness.
