Hello Everyone
June’s bright mornings and long evenings have arrived, and our neighbourhood calendar is bursting with ways to get outside and connect.
Free Outdoor Movie Nights will begin to light up parks across the city—no tickets needed, just bring a blanket and enjoy a film under the stars.
If you prefer a patio table to a picnic blanket, Downtown London’s new Patio Trail features more than thirty-five cafés, restaurants, and pubs; check in with the digital passport, earn points toward Downtown Dollar gift cards, and discover some of the expanded sidewalk patios. You’ll also spot “Patio Pub Talks” and unannounced pop-ups along Dundas Place where neighbours, staff, and local partners can gather for casual conversation—consider dropping by to share your ideas for the core.
In other significant news, applications are now open for the Ontario Renovates Program, offering up to $25,000 for essential home repairs and accessibility upgrades for eligible seniors and residents with disabilities.
Note to residents: Our streets will be bustling on June 8 as the Forest City Road Race returns with internationally accredited courses that weave through Ward 13. Races wrap up by late morning, and rolling closures reopen once the final runners pass. Please see this segment of newsletter for more info.
Whether you’re cheering at the race, catching a movie in the park, or simply enjoying a coffee on a patio, I hope you’ll take advantage of these moments to celebrate our shared spaces in Ward 13.
Warm regards,
David Ferreira Councillor Ward 13, London Ontario 519-661-2489 ext. 4013 | dferreira@london.ca

A Decade of Truth & Reconciliation
|
|
|
June 2, 2025, marks the 10-year anniversary of the Truth & Reconciliation Commission’s Calls to Action. This is a significant moment to reflect on how far we’ve come — and how far we still have to go. As a city, and as individuals, we must continue to support meaningful progress on these Calls and work alongside Indigenous communities to ensure action, not just acknowledgment.

The Vision SoHo Alliance is reintroducing its transformative downtown housing initiative as Village SoHo. Its first project, The Zerin on South, is set to open at 370 South Street later this spring, with more buildings to follow.
To support residents and help foster a stronger, connected neighbourhood, CMHA Thames Valley has received $250,000 from the London Community Foundation’s Fund for Change. The first model suites at The Zerin will be available in late May, with more openings and community events to follow. Stay tuned as this vibrant new neighbourhood takes shape!
