Hello <<First Name>>
As we get into October, I ask us to slow down, look around, and decide what kind of city we want to be. Let’s notice our neighbours, lend a hand where we can, and show up for our fellow people. My message to you this month is: small choices add up, patience in traffic, care at crosswalks, a kind word, a thoughtful email, or a smile. If we listen more and judge less, that all translates into a city that’s safer, fairer, and full of opportunity. The future of London isn’t something that happens to us, it’s something we make, as people of this great city.
We have real chances this month to shape London’s next chapters. The Downtown Plan is moving into its next phase, and the Mobility Master Plan is open for final public review. If you have a thought about how Downtown should look, feel, or work, or how we live, work, gather, or move, I’m asking you to put it on the record by engaging with the Downtown Plan or MMP work. More details in the newsletter.
Ward 13 Community Chats wrap for the season this month. I’ve rescheduled the Cavendish chat and added a Midtown chat, and the Oxford Park chat is also happening in October. I hope to see you there.
With shorter days and Halloween on the horizon, please take extra care around crosswalks and school zones, and let’s keep our streets friendly for trick-or-treaters.
I’m grateful for how Londoners keep showing up for one another, quietly, consistently, and with purpose. Let’s carry that spirit into October. Wishing you a thoughtful month and a warm Thanksgiving.
Warm regards,
David Ferreira
